Dear Friend's in Christ, In today's message, we will continue to read from the sufferings of the little shepherds of Fatima and those qualities in them that made them to be recognized by the church and favoured by God. This is the 23rd episode on the life of Blessed Jacinta Marto. FOOD AND DRINK To make reparation to Our Lord to convert sinners, the little shepherds availed of every occasion to offer up sacrifices. Besides the sacrifice of their lunch, the generous little seers found many other ways of mortifying the palate. When Jacinta's mother gave some bunches of grapes to the three little shepherds, her little daughter said: --Let us not eat them but offer this sacrifice for sinners. The same thing happened with delicious figs. To mortify herself, Jacinta even ate the green acorns and olives, saying: ---It's because they are bitter that I'm eating them, to convert sinners. They offered sacrifices in taking a drink. Lucia writes: Occasionally also, we were in the habit of offering to God the sacrifice of spending nine days or a month without taking a drink. Once, we made this sacrifice even in the month of August, when the heat was suffocating. When Lucia brought a pitcher of water, and told Francisco to take a drink, he replied: I don't want to. I want to suffer for the conversion of sinners. And Jacinta said: I want to offer this sacrifice for sinners too. This is where I will draw the curtain for today's discussion till I come your way again tomorrow. Remain Blessed in the Immaculate Heart. Yours in the Immaculate Heart, Br. Emmanuel Obele Maria.
