Dear Friend's inChrist, In today's message, you will see how these little seers of Fatima have really demonstrated their love for the conversion of sinners, and their seriousness to do anything and to go extra mile for the sake of the kingdom of God. To the extend that Our Lady took pity on them and told them to reduce their sacrifice for sinners especially for Jacinta who is crying for the pains of the sacrifice and at the same time would not want to remove it. "Oh" these childrenare heroes of faith and worthy of emulation. This is the 24th episode on the life of Blessed Jacinta Marto. CHASTISING THE BODY Besides the sacrifices of the palate, the little shepherds mortified the body with other penances. They wore a piece of rope tied around their waists which Our Lady, in the September apparition, told them to remove at night and wear it only during the day. Either because of the thickness or roughness of the rope, or because we sometimes tied it too tightly, this instrument of penance often cause us terrible suffering. Now and then, Jacinta could not keep back her tears, so great was the discomfort this caused her. Whenever I urged her to remove it,she replied: ---No! I want to offer this sacrifice to Our Lord in reparation, and for the conversion of sinners. Jacinta, happening to sting herself one day with nettles, said to her companions: ---Look! Look! Here is something else with which we can mortify ourselves! From that time on, we used to hit our legs occasionally with nettles, so as to offer to God yet another sacrifice. Another sacrifice consisted in spending hours on end with their heads bowed to the ground repeating the prayers of the Angel. Jacinta—Lucia said—dearly loved dancing, and had a special aptitude for it.Soon after the apparitions she said: --I'm not going to dance any more, because I want to offer this to Our Lord. This is where I willcall it a day for today's discussion. Have a very pleasant weekend and remain Blessed in the Immaculate Heart till I come your way againon Monday. Yours in the Immaculate Heart, Br. Emmanuel Obele Maria.
