Retreat as the name implies is a time of withdrawal from the noise and activity of busy life into a quiet place and or self for purpose of study, meditation and prayer. It is also a time of abstinence, discerning the will of God in our life, a time of total change from our evil and bad ways to seek the face of God and to do good.
Lent is not only a time of fast from food but also a time to feast on virtues!
The best fasting is to abstain from sin.
People have over the years tried them and they been fruitful. You can try them too and a trial will convince you.
Little penances (we can do) for the Lent.
Joachim Chukwudi is a seminarian preparing for the Priesthood in Obowo, Imo State, Nigeria.
He is a long-time friend of the apostolate, with a great devotion to Our Lady and the Holy Rosary.
We have supported his ministry with rosaries and other sacramentals.
We received his "Lenten Reflections" in a personal correspondence; we have publicized them here with his permission.
Please remember Joachim and all the other seminarians in your prayers. - PrayTheRosary Apostolate
